Mary (Margo) Kornachuk passed away peacefully at the palliative care unit of St. Boniface Hospital on February 7, 2025, at age 85.
Margo is survived by her husband Ed; 2 children, Amy and John; 2 stepchildren, Anne-Marie and David; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Margo was born in Mound Minnesota and graduated from Mound High School. She received her RN from Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. After marrying husband Ed, she moved to Canada where she lived in Toronto and Winnipeg and became a Canadian citizen. As an RN, Margo worked primarily in Women's health care and was a strong advocate of women's rights, especially women's reproductive rights. At times she also volunteered at Meals on Wheels, Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface Hospital and Victoria General.
Our family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the 8th floor palliative care unit for their professional and compassionate care of Margo.

Miss Margo, I am so deeply saddened to hear of your passing. I think of you often and with great memories. We used to bake Christmas cookies together and shared many wonderful meals with you and Ed. Boy, we had some wonderful meals! Remember coming to our cottage with Cody and Chelsea, and Ed teaching our Golden, Boomer how to swim? Good times we did have! Sending you love and hugs.
