Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE MAY TESARSKI
We sadly announce the passing of our mom, Olive May Tesarski on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 1:15 p.m. at her residence, Dinsdale Personal Care, with a room full of love and family by her side. We take comfort in knowing our mom and dad are together again, enjoying the sunsets and dancing the nights away.
Mom was born on her grandparents' farm located between Pilot Mound and Purvis, to parents Ernest and Lilian Vodden (nee Hagyard). She grew up on a farm in the Purvis area with her parents and brother Ken. Mom’s baby sister Helen Jean passed away at 6 months and her mother passed away when she was 8 years old.
Mom’s dad Ernie eventually remarried, and mom had a wonderful stepmom, our grandma Pearl.
After attending a nearby school, mom went off to pursue office work in Winnipeg. On one of her weekends back home to visit, mom had a chance meeting with our dad, Tom Tesarski, a new teacher to the area. The rest they say is “history” .... and they married on April 19, 1949, in Winnipeg MB. Together they raised 5 children: Garry (Jill), Charlotte, Curt (Janine), Shelly (Roger) and Brad (Kris). There are 12 grandchildren: Robyn, Tricia, Janey (Shawn), Melanie (Chris), Paul, Marc, Eric, Candy (Curtis), Nicholette (Jimmy), Zach (Ellisa), Emily & Olivia; 17 great-grandchildren Kyler, Lacey, Maddox, Holden, Casper, Emma, Kamara, Aileena, Finnley, Dane, Dawsyn, Sierra, Zander, Ethan, Spencer, Elijah and Norah.
Mom began her married life as a housewife but once all of us kids were in school, she decided to further her education and earned a teaching certificate from the university in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Mom taught for several years in Winkler, Reston, Gladstone and at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon. She enjoyed the business courses so much that she ended up having her own home-based income tax business into her 80’s. Mom and Dad finally retired and moved out to the country near Alexander on Brad and Kris’s property.
Mom loved having her family visit often and hosting family events and get-togethers. Mom loved to sew for her family, often making pajamas and nighties for her grandchildren. She truly had a” green thumb” and could grow the most beautiful flowers as well as tons of vegetables that she shared with her family. She was a wonderful cook, and all her family would agree that she made the best “everything”!
Love you always Mom & Grandma
You left us beautiful memories
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You’re always by our side.

Olive was one of my first clients. She became a close friend and supporter thru my life. Our weekly visits were full of conversations and laughter. My heart goes out to the entire Tesarski family, she will be missed, but with a smile. - Posted by: Kathy Hodgson (Friend) on: May 10, 2025
