In Loving Memory.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Whitesell, who left us on April 20, 2025, at St. Pierre Hospital, at the age of 81. After courageously battling the effects of a stroke suffered on February 6, 2025, she ultimately succumbed to complications.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 52 years, Dallas Whitesell; and her children, Lionel Bunn (Maria) and Julie Baggley (Darren). She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Baggley (Sydney), Chantel Clark (Trevor), Drayden Baggley (Emily), and Nicholas Garland; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Nixon, Everett, Stevie, and Kalicee.
Mary was predeceased by her loving son, Niles Whitesell, on May 7, 2021.
A woman of immense warmth and generosity, Mary treasured her family and friends above all else. Her warm hugs, radiant smile, and kind spirit touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures - Friday afternoons at the VLTs, weekly family dinners, and heartfelt phone calls just to check in with extended family.
Mom, we find peace in knowing you’re now reunited with Niles. You’ll live on in our hearts forever, and we will always cherish the memories and laughter you gave.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, a graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ile Des Chenes Cemetery on Notre Dame Bay East.
A Celebration of Life/Reception will follow at Darren and Julie’s residence. All are welcome to attend.
