It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Kyoko at the St. Boniface Hospital on May 18, 2025.

She was predeceased by her parents Sutejiro and Kono Kawasaki; and her siblings, Tadanobu, Kazumi, Matsuo, Kiyomi and Junji.

She is survived by her siblings; Takeo (Rose), Shigeo (Chizuko), Isami (Verna), and Kenny.

Kyoko was an active member of the Manitoba Buddhist Temple, and the Japanese Cultural Center where she enjoyed being with others and helping out at the Horizon Club. A wonderful and caring person, she was who thought of others before herself.

She will be dearly missed.

A private family service was held.

Rest in Peace dear Kyoko.

  • My Deepest Condolences to the family of Kyoko on her passing. I will miss our chats and laughter. Kyoko always had a smile and kind words for everyone. She's with her brother now, who she dearly missed. Kyoko will be missed at the Japanese Cultural Center, where she truly enjoyed spending time. I first met Kyoko at the flower shop in the Courts of St James. We became friends at Salisbury house and coffee or tea at Legends. • What a classy Lady! Kyoko was my secretary at the Maple Leaf Mills Limited office on Archibald Street WAY BACK, circa 1970/71. She was a REAL PROFESSIONAL. She was also a very good 5-Pin bowler and we served together at the time as President and Secretary of a twelve team league. When she left Maple Leaf, I believe she took a job with CBC. We used to meet for lunch at the restaurant in the Hudson's Bay store to discuss bowling strategy and events. MAY HER MEMORY BE ETERNAL! - Posted by: Myron Masnyk (Co-worker (Back in the "Dark Ages")) on: May 24, 2025
