Peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Eileen was gently taken from us on the Arms of the Angels. Her great reward for 96 plus years of steadfast faith and love in Christ now awaits her with our Heavenly Father and all those who have gone on before her.
Mom was born Eileen Fleck on December 18, 1928, on a farm north of Lampman, SK. She moved to Winnipeg after high school where she met and married our dad, George Dunsford, in 1950.
They had four children, all surviving her, David (Cathy), Brian (Lucy), Peggy (Doug) and Jocelyn (Frank); seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris), Veronica (Shane), Karli (Tim), Kristy (Sam), Lauryn (Mike), Christopher, and Nicholas (Amanda); six great-grandchildren, Lennon and Georgia, Wynne, Oliver and Benjamin, and Aidan. She is survived by her youngest and only surviving sibling, her brother Raymond Fleck (Leona) from Lampman, SK who was very dear to her. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 1978, her parents Veronica and Frank, her brothers Michael (Alice), Frankie (Pat/Heather), Eddie, Joseph (Frances), sister Anne (John) and also dear friend Dave Leckey.
Mom lived a long and wonderful life - always enjoying a visit with friends and family or a chance to travel when she could. She stayed in her own home on Spruce Street until 2021 - 70 years!! - with the help of compassionate and caring home care staff in the later years.... especially Femy and Emer.
Words cannot express our gratitude to the caring staff at St. Joseph's ActionMarguerite on Leila Avenue for the four wonderful years she spent there until her passing. It was “home” to her and we are eternally grateful for the community within that residence.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Parish, 836 Arlington St, Winnipeg with burial and reception to be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph’s ActionMarguerite, 1149 Leila Avenue, Winnipeg, R2P 1S6

Mrs. Dunsford you will be missed by this side of the family, whenever we were together for family get-togethers you always came with a smile and hug for everyone. Your talks with the moms was something they always enjoyed and they always missed you when you left for Winnipeg, this was truly family time. To the family our thoughts and prayers are with all of you, may you all remember the hugs, smiles, and good talks you had with your mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will always be a treasure we were able to share with you, love and hugs. Jim & Liz - Posted by: Jim & Liz Michonski (Lucy's cousin) on: Jun 02, 2025

Ah so many wonderful memories of Eileen - George and Eileen and my parents "hanging out" and getting into the kind of antics you'd expect from teenagers, not OUR parents. Of course many family functions as we all grew up, married, etc so our families always closely tied with Eileen and Dave always a part of everything. Of course one of my most special memories was all of us on our cruise - our Moms shamelessly flirting with the handsome young staff who seemed to enjoy it as much as they did. She will be missed but her years were full and happy. - Posted by: Faye Wankling (Family Friend) on: May 31, 2025
