FRANK ALBERT JOHNSON

We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Frank Albert Johnson (born September 11, 1946).

He was very loved and will be so deeply mourned by his partner, his children and grandchildren, his siblings and extended family, and his dear friends and colleagues.

Our hearts are simply broken. Frank collapsed and died very quickly, a sudden cardiac death, on June 1, 2025.

In time, as we are ready, a full obituary and details regarding a gathering in Frank’s memory will be posted. For now, we wanted to inform his larger community of this difficult news. As we gather our thoughts and our energy, we would love to hear your memories of, stories about, and connections with Frank.

Additionally, if you would like to be notified of the posting of his obituary and gathering information, you can let us know and we will do so. Please send memories and notification requests to: faj.memories@gmail.com.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I am stunned to be reading this passage about Frank as I was not aware. As friends we always exchanged texts especially at Christmas time or in the beginning of the New Year, passing on our good wishes to each other. I had sent him a text for the new year in 2026. As I did not hear back, I sent him another message but still no reply? This was not like him. It made no sense, as even when he was busy doing his "lawyer stuff" he would still reply, even to say, "I'll get back to you soon" and he always did! I knew Frank for a good 15 years, when he returned to Winnipeg. Frank was always very positive, and he really did not speak about any of his issues, but he always spoke well of others. He was always willing to help when he could. We enjoyed several lunches together and we always had a lot to talk about. I knew Frank as a gentle kindhearted person and a man of integrity, a person that you could trust. A person that genuinely wanted to help others first. He always spoke highly of his family and their success. To those who knew him, he was a very sharp dresser, and he dressed "to the nines." He was a truly caring, loving person. My Condolences to all his family and friends. I was Blessed to have known Frank, and I personally will miss him. Rest In Peace Frank - till we meet again. - Posted by: Gerald Skochyles (Friend) on: Jan 28, 2026

  • I did not know Frank well, but rather as the spouse/partner of my dear friend Clare and as a fellow colleague (lawyer). He chauffeured Clare to and from our high school reunion outings. His kindness in general and devotion to Clare, who was not well, was evident. He doted over her making sure she attended to her medical appointments and needs. I was struck with his calm, kind, quiet demeanor...always with a little smile of contentment. His sudden departure came as a total shock. I can only imagine the grief those close to him must be feeling. We lost a good soul. - Posted by: Gloria Mendelson (As a lawyer he seemed to hae the qualities of calm reson combined with compassion. • Ever since my husband, Don ran Frank’s campaign for city council, Frank has been a friend of the family for a long time. I saw him two years ago when I was back in Winnipeg and hoped to see him again this year. He always seemed in good health so this came as a big shock. Sad news.
