Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILDA CHARTRAND
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Chartrand on June 17, 2025. Born on June 2, 1929, in St. Laurent, Manitoba, Hilda had just celebrated her 96th birthday. As a Wife, Mom, Memere, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother, Hilda was the mastermind and heart of our family.
Left to mourn Hilda’s passing and cherish her memory, her 13 children, Donna (Albert) McKay, Roy Jr. (Margaret), Joy (Clarence) Carriere, Roger, Danny, Caroline (Joe Molnar), Jackie Trenchard, Marilyn Lockhart, Walter (Teresa), Julien (Carmen Combot), Della Herrera, Michael, Kelly (Kendell Crepeele); 36 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, along with her sister Elsie, sisters-in-law, Gracia, Louise and Diane (Roland), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Hilda was predeceased by her loving husband, Roy Sr. (June 10, 1998); her beloved infant daughter, Marie (February 22, 1955); two grandsons, Brad and Colton Chartrand; parents, Eva (Lambert) and Daniel Devlin; brothers, Daniel and Bill; sisters, Evelyn, Jocelyn, and Lorraine, and daughter-in-law, Roberta Chartrand.
We would like to thank the staff at Neil Gaudry Centre (St. Laurent Assisted Living Centre) and the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital for their kindness and for taking such good care of our mother.
A private family funeral service including the Devlin and Chartrand families will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tinguely officiating. The pallbearers will be Roy and Donna, and honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildren.
Mom, Memere, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother, we will forever love and miss you. You will always be in our hearts.
As we prepare to inter our parents together, we take comfort in knowing that, after 27 years, Roy and Hilda are reunited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom’s memory to the charity of your choice.

I first met Hilda when I went to help her clean her house. I instantly felt a connection to her. Her warmth and charm I felt right away. She was always telling me stories of days gone by and would laugh when tell her some of my stories. A Beautiful Soul has left us but memories of her will forever remain. Condolences to all her Children and Families. - Posted by: Daryle Friesen (Friend) on: Jul 12, 2025
