ARVID ALBERT LEPARD

November 30, 1946 – June 15, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Arvid Albert Lepard announces his passing on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Brandon, Manitoba, at the age of 78.

Arvid was born on November 30, 1946, in Souris, Manitoba, to the late Albert and Margaret Lepard.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley Lepard. The two were married on April 27, 1968, and shared over 57 years of love and devotion.

Together they raised two children: Dawn Oberlander (Jason) and Tyler Lepard (Amanda McLean) who will forever cherish his wisdom and guidance.

Arvid was a proud grandfather to Kael and Marin Oberlander, and Hayden Lepard, who brought him immense joy and pride.

He is also survived by his dear sister, Clarice Olgetree (Jim).

Arvid started his career as a meat cutter at the age of 16, working at Fedoruks in Brandon.

He went on to work at IGA/Sobeys, dedicating over 45 years to this profession. After his retirement at Sobeys, he continued to serve the community working part-time as a Commissioner for the Federal Government.

Arvid loved camping and fishing. He cherished his summers with family and friends. He loved sports whether it be playing, coaching his kids, or supporting his grandkids. He had a passion for motorcycles and loved the freedom of the open road. In his later years he enjoyed the simple pleasures of coffee with friends, listening to country music and walking his dog.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion, unconditional love and willingness to help those in need with a smile.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, Brandon, MB on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Arvid’s honour to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Arvid will be missed by many for his warm heart, selflessness and devotion for his family. I remember him at Fedoruks grocery when I was working there part time and there was no one that could out work him. When Kathy and I were in Brandon form time to time he always wanted to go out for a meal. We enjoyed his and Shirley's stories and had a good laugh. He always talked about their grandchildren with pride. He was one of the most caring men I know. Our thoughts and prayers for Shirley, Dawn, Tyler, Clarice and Jim. He is missed. - Posted by: Dan lepard (cousin) on: Jul 13, 2025

  • Growing up I will always remember Arvid's gentle kindness. He was my favourite person that my dad worked with. As an adult he would always come and sit with me if I was at Tim Hortons. Just to catch up. I will miss his big heart. Lots of love to Shirley, Dawn, Tyler and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Marni Matikka (Friend) on: Jul 09, 2025

  • On behalf of my wife Aggie and I we offer our Condolences to the family of Arvid Lepard. I remember the days when we played cops and robbers and cowboys and Indians in our early years in the small town of Deleau. Arvid and I were cousins. - Posted by: Norm Lepard (Cousin) on: Jul 05, 2025

  • Arvid, was a real sweetheart, always such a caring man. We lived in Deleau at the same time and had many great memories there. When we moved to Brandon it continued, watching wrestling every Friday night was a big deal in those days. He always called me kiddo. Arvid and Shirley visited us many times after we moved to Calgary. Rest in peace sweet cuz! Love ya❤️ - Posted by: Eleanor Radcliffe (Cousin) on: Jul 05, 2025
