ROBERT (BOB) BARRIE KELLINGTON
Bob, age 81, passed away on June 28, 2025, at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.
Born in Saskatoon on September 7, 1943, to Harvey and Muriel; after his father’s passing, Bob moved to Winnipeg as a young child with his family where he lived for the rest of his life.
A graduate of Kelvin High School (1961) he continued his education at the Institute of Chartered Accountants Manitoba. After graduation he joined Manitoba Hydro where he would spend his entire professional career, retiring as Manager of the Internal Audit Department.
His mother married Tom Rosborough when Bob was in his 20s.
Bob married Virginia (Ginny) Snead, a childhood neighbour, on June 28, 1969, and they were the love of each other’s lives for nearly 55 years thereafter. Bob remained a devoted father to his children, Stephanie and Sean, and husband to Ginny, who he cherished and supported through various mental and physical struggles.
Bob firmly established himself in the Winnipeg community. A long-time volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, he also applied his professional skills on the finance committees of St. Aidan’s and St. Peter’s Anglican Church. Along with being a lifelong curler he also maintained an active interest in Canadian history and politics.
Predeceased by his wife Ginny, brother David and stepbrother Bryden, Bob is survived by his children. Stephanie (Tim) and Sean (Jessica), and his sisters-in-law. Georgette Snead and Betty-Lou Rosborough.
A public ceremony will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church at 11:00 a.m., on July 12, 2025, where all who knew him are invited to celebrate his life and contribution to the community.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to CancerCare Manitoba, Parkinson Canada or Peer Connections Manitoba.

I worked for Bob in the part of 80’s and 90’s, he was one of the most honest men i’ve known. A very proud parent who often shared a story about Stephanie and Sean. My condolences. - Posted by: KELLY B NEALE (Friend) on: Jul 11, 2025

This tribute to Bob is excrutiating to write. the shock and sadness is heavy and deep. We have been friends since we were 7 and 8 years old. Friendships ebb and flow like waves, but remain powerful throughout the years. Bob missed Ginny deeply. He passed on their wedding anniversary. Alma was blessed to have had a long, joyful conversation with Bob earlier that day. His soft, gentle chuckle echoed his life of devotion and dedication. We will miss you forever our friend. May your new journey be one of your faith fulfilled. In love, Alma (Turner) and Jim Stebbing. - Posted by: Jim and Alma Stebbing (75 year friends) on: Jul 07, 2025

I knew Mr. Kellington at my time with Mb Hydro. He was quite the gentleman, easy to get along with and very knowledgeable. Rest in peace Mr. Kellington. - Posted by: Robert Crawley (Acquaintance) on: Jul 05, 2025
