JOHN (JACK) BRIAN MORRISON

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 78, John (Jack) Brian Morrison passed away peacefully at Beacon Hill Care Home.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Jane (2013), his parents, Florence and Robert and his brother Jimmy. He is survived by his wife of eight years, Shirley; his children, Debbra (Karl) and David (Andrea); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Dana, Christie, Alyssa, Kelsey and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Katerah, Serana, Charlee, Daniel, Bella, Makinley and Madison; his siblings, Robert (Bob) and Glen, as well as many friends, nieces, great-niece, nephew, cousins and extended family.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jack had a life-time career at CP Rail as an electrician. His favourite thing to do every summer was camp at Selkirk Park, where you would usually find him down by the river fishing or at his campsite making his famous "Bamboo Sticks and Hockey pucks". His love for his family was proven time and time again, with his presence and support to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.

  • What can you say about a great brother that everyone already knows. Even though we were 10 years apart in age and when I was younger and a pain in the ass as i got older we used to hang out the odd time. Especially when the guys met at the Big A on a Saturday. Jack was kind and always willing to help family from repairing cars to electrical. I'm going to miss him a lot but he will get to see mom and dad and big Jim who also adore hi. RIP big brother. - Posted by: Glenn Morrison (Brother) on: Jul 05, 2025

  • Our deepest Sympathies. We wish Mike and I and his great-grandchildren could be there. We are so grateful for all his help especially in our first home (breaker box and fuse issues we had). I will miss the bamboo sticks and hockey pucks, time fishing and swimming at Selkirk. And when he came to the St. James Senior Centre on the 3rd floor south entrance at Deer Lodge Centre, he would tap on the glass and wave through the windows at me. And I always noticed that no matter where we went someone knew him and say “hey Jack”. Rest in peace in your heavenly campsite with grandma pops. With your crosswords and hammock and that always awesome farmers tan you got every summer. Thank you for the driving lesson, Love Jen, Mikey, Kat and Serana. - Posted by: Jennifer (Grand Daughter) on: Jul 05, 2025

  • My deepest Condolences to Jack's family on his passing. I use to 10-pin bowl with Jack and his brother Glen years ago at Empress Lanes. I would like to share a quote with Jack's family. Jack has not died, but gone away, to a better place, free of pain and suffering. We will see him again some day. Rest in Peace Jack. You are loved and will be missed. - Posted by: Patricia Homenick (Friend) on: Jul 05, 2025
