I met Eric at a friends gathering. In talking to Eric, I discovered that we both grew up in the same neighborhood (a few years apart), we both had the same paper route on the same street, then industriously, both expanded our horizons and took the same paper route next street over as well. Over the next few years, I got to know the type of person Eric was. Although Eric was one of Manitoba’s most successful business person, he treated all that crossed his path, as an equal. Eric made sure all the Boys and Girl club’s vehicles were gassed up at his own expense, and would not want any recognition for it. That was Eric. Parkinson’s cut our time short, and I will miss our fun conversations, like the newspaper subscribers that wouldn’t answer their door on collection night and we would have to carry them for $1.25 into next week. - Posted by: Gus Tsouras (Friend) on: Jul 22, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we remember Eric Johnson, a much-respected client and friend. Eric was more than just a successful businessman— he was a man of principle, integrity, and generosity. Through his work, he earned the respect of many, but it was his warmth, kindness, and unwavering friendship that left the deepest impression. Eric enjoyed life and gave freely of his time, his wisdom, and his heart. To those fortunate enough to know him, Eric was a steady hand, a trusted confidant, a very generous man and philanthropist, and a loyal friend. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched. Eric was more than a client, he and his wife Carol, who predeceased him, became very good friends whom Shelley and I will greatly miss. We extend our condolences to Jeff and Tammy, Grant and Shannon, and families. Richard Muller and Shelley Mitchell - Posted by: Richard Muller (Friend) on: Jul 20, 2025

Very sorry to hear of Eric's passing. I've know Eric for 33 years. I first met Eric when he wad looing to buy a boat. He came into Leisure Time Center at 656 St. James St. We had a good chat and it turned out that his in-law's had a cottage on Pincushion Point (Laclu) the same lake as me. I sold him a boat and we have been friends ever since. My condolences to his family. Sincerely Paul Tilley. - Posted by: Paul Tilley (Friend) on: Jul 19, 2025
