JOANNE ROBERTA CHESLEY
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Poseidon Care Centre. Peacefully in her sleep, Joanne completed her life’s journey and went to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 83 years.
She will be dearly missed by Mel, her loving husband of 63 years; their children, Leanne (Wayne), Deborah (Stan) and Cheryl (Ryan); their grandchildren, Jaden and Alayna; Iain and Isabelle; Brianna (Josh), Avril and Evan; brother Stan (Angela), niece, nephews, other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anita Gren (Grenzowski).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Rock, 1397 Buffalo Place, Winnipeg, with viewing prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne’s memory to Muscular Dystrophy Canada or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

Heartfelt condolences to you Mel & family at Joanne’s ‘going home’….She will be singing with the choir of Aglow sisters that have gone before. Her life is a testimony to the Glory of our Lord & Savior! Holding you in my heart. May the Lord comfort you at this time. We were neighbours on Booth Drive from '93-'05. Dave (deceased in August '24) and I always enjoyed our over-the-fence chats with our dear neighbours. Joanne had such an uplifting way about her. She always made me feel lighter and at peace after our talks. My deepest sympathy to Mel and the family. Hold your memories of Joanne dear and close to your hearts. Joanne and Mel were among the first folks to really make me feel welcome at The Meeting Place many years ago. Her beautiful smile and always-cheerful disposition never failed to lift my spirit and she always seemed to know just the right words of encouragement that I needed to hear. My heartfelt Condolences to Mel and family - special people leave special memories, and I trust those memories will bring you comfort. - Posted by: Carol Graham (Acquaintance) on: Jul 19, 2025
