Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) SPEECHLEY
With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of William “Bill” Speechley. He was predeceased by his wife and by his daughter, Donna. Bill was the proud father of Dean (Jodie) and Dan (Sara); grandfather to Wes, Jayda, Jack, and Ella; and great-grandfather to Carter.
Bill held many jobs but spoke most fondly of breaking horses on the family farm in Alberta as a teenager. He spent much of his working life in the bush as a driller and field foreman for mining companies. In retirement, Bill could be found at Tall Timber Lodge, where he spent summers fishing and entertaining his family. Always a storyteller, he loved sharing memories of his childhood and the remote locations across Canada where he had worked.
The family would like to thank Jackie, Dad’s primary healthcare aide, and all the caring health professionals at Riverview Palliative Care 3E.
Rest easy, Papa.

Bill was a great addition to the family. He was a kind soul who had time for everyone. We moved away from Winnipeg but we’re always welcome overnight guests where Bill would have coffee on and breakfast cooking in the morning. He was a good friend to us and I think of him often. I am saddened by the news of his passing. Rest in peace, my friend. - Posted by: Ross Watson (Brother in law) on: Aug 02, 2025
