It is with broken hearts that we share with you that our Special Lady, daughter, mother, sister, auntie and hair stylist extraordinaire, Melanie passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the young age of 44.
Mel was blessed to have eleven of her loved ones at her side, wishing her well on her final journey. Melanie had health issues tied to a compromised immune system in her life, specifically for the past seven years, but held off from letting it hold her back or slow her down until this spring. She handled every appointment, surgery, procedure, test and setback with the determination of a warrior and the tolerance of a saint. Mel had such a positive outlook on life and “played the hand she was dealt” with poise, dignity, and a sense of humour in her darkest times.
Melanie leaves behind two daughters, Natalie and Mattie Noto, as well as her partner Chris Stratychuk and his three boys Archie, Tuckar, and Lincoln. She was the daughter of Brian and Linda Noto, sister of Mike (Allison) Noto and proud auntie to Hailey and Alicia Noto. She always placed a special spot in her heart for her Godmother Gisele Solon and Gisele’s daughter Samantha, along with her extended family members, all her countless friends, clients and fur babies (way too many to name).
A Celebration of Melanie’s Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 3, 560 – 13th Street East, Brandon, MB, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Please join us to share the honour of being her friend. Melanie would want us to dress however we please, casual dress welcome!
In lieu of flowers, if so desired donations in memory of Melanie can be made to Diabetes Canada, #401 – 1 Wesley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C6 or any animal rescue of your choosing.

Melanie Gisele Noto passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.
Her memory will be honored lovingly by her two daughters Mattie and Natalie Noto, her partner Chris Stratychuck and his children Lincoln, Tuckar, and Archie, her parents Brian and Linda Noto, brother Mike (Allison) Noto and nieces Alicia and Hailey Noto.
