Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • George was my second cousin on the Faraci side. He would always have a big hello when he saw you and a genuine interest in how you were doing. I offer condolences to George's family and to his brother Jack (Marion) on his passing. I know he will leave a void in your lives that no one else can fill and a heart full of love and memories. My deepest condolences, Dawn Turner - Posted by: Dawn Turner (Cousin) on: Aug 27, 2025

  • Had the pleasure of knowing George through his years hosting Community Sports Report and Timeout on VPW 11. I was one of many technical people behind the scenes who helped him get to air, and it was obvious that Mr. McBride was passionate about the local sports scene, covering stories and events that might not have gotten major coverage on broadcast television. Though I knew him in the late 80's era, I remember him as a gentleman who cared enough to put his passion into a hobby of reflecting the local sports scene through the medium of community access television and doing it superbly. Rest in peace George, it was a pleasure knowing and working with all those years ago... - Posted by: John Davies (friend) on: Aug 23, 2025

  • Sorry for your loss. George taught my brothers and I how to play slow pitch. Years ago. He was such a fun person..and so caring. - Posted by: Larry Danylyshen (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2025

  • Mr. McBride was my first hockey coach at Shaughnessy Park, he was such an influence on my life on how to treat people with respect, one fond memory was we played an exhibition game in Elm Creek and as a gesture of appreciation he handed us all O' Henry bars to give as a gift as we shook hands with the other team. I certainly remember his car he wouldn’t hesitate to pick any of us up if we needed a ride. My condolences to Linda and all her siblings. Thanks for all you did for us Mr. McBride. - Posted by: Brad McClintock (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2025
