Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRUCE DOUGLAS BECK
With profound sadness and full hearts, we announce the passing of Bruce Beck, who left us peacefully after an almost 30-year courageous battle with brain cancer.
Bruce was predeceased by his beloved father, John Beck, and his stepfather, Bill McKeigan and is lovingly remembered by his devoted partner, Corinne; his caring mother, Margaret; his sisters, Andrea and Karen (Stu) and his brother, Grant. He also leaves behind cherished cousins, many adoring nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends - each touched by his kindness, wit, and generous spirit.
Bruce lived his life with passion, purpose, and joy. He never let his illness define him or slow him down. Some of his greatest joys came from summers spent at the family cottage on Lake of the Woods, where he slalom water skied with skill and a grin. He loved playing in his pool league, working out in the gym, and the thrill of travelling the world - scuba diving in Mexico and exploring the stunning coral reefs of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, trekking the Milford Track in New Zealand, kayaking the waters of Belize and BC's south coast, and visiting far-off places like South Africa, Italy, Argentina, and Thailand.
After undergoing treatment for brain cancer, Bruce's brilliance shone once again as he proudly became a member of Mensa International, scoring in the 98th percentile - a quiet but meaningful triumph for a man of both strength and intellect. His courage, determination, and zest for life stand as a testament to all to live life to the fullest.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff at Carewest Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre and the Peter Lougheed Hospital. Your care, compassion, and support brought comfort to Bruce and those who loved him during his final days.
A celebration of Bruce's life will be held later. All who knew and loved Bruce are welcome.
Donations in Bruce's name for brain cancer research may be made at the Alberta Cancer Foundation (https://albertacancer.ca/donate/)

I first met Bruce in middle school. He had a quirky, dry sense of humour which always made me smile. I played sports against him and chin around with him in high school for a bit. We re-connected a few years back and we shared a lot of laughs and discovered what a photogenic memory he had. He would literally remember the amount of people, their strengths and weaknesses in a neighborhood pickup football game. This showed to me just how smart and intelligent of a person ….one example, that is! Bruce was one of the good guys! RIP Bruce - Posted by: Bob Casson (Friend) on: Aug 30, 2025
