I was very fortunate to get to first know and have as a teacher Otto at Chief Peguis Jr. High in the early 70’s. Otto was the vice principal but also taught our grade 9 social studies class where he was teaching a special “pilot “ class on human rights. The activities, debates, going to the law courts, etc. we did inspired me throughout my life. Later after I became a teacher and was lucky to work with Otto on his Knowledge Builder program to develop critical thinking and writing skills. I believe Otto was at the forefront in inspiring students and educators in critical thinking and learning. Otto was always so enthusiastic and engaging and his positivity and kindness to everyone who he knew is something I will always remember. Otto was the most influential, inspirational and forward thinking educator I have ever had the privilege to meet and work with! - Posted by: Mike Kusyk (Former student and colleague) on: Sep 20, 2025
