I am so sorry to hear of Don’s death. I was out of the country at the time of his Celebration of Life or I most certainly would have attended. Don was my neighbour and then friend at Canterbury house. He was an intelligent, courageous and kind man. He was so kind to my sister Lois who stayed with me during her treatment for Cancer and to me as well after she passed. He wrote an amazing book during his illness and faced his diagnosis with extreme courageous. I helped Don when he moved to 64 Nassau in December and met his son in law and grandson and brother. Don was so optimistic. My deepest sympathy to his daughter and family. Don was a good man. - Posted by: Bonnie Nay (Neighbour/Friend) on: Nov 03, 2025

Don was a close friend during those formative teen years. His home basement served as headquarters for hanging out and a practice site for our band, “The Paisley Pumpernickle.” The best darn rock band on McCalman Ave. At least in our own minds. Don played tuba in high school band. On a recent trip back to Winnipeg I had the pleasure of speaking with him a couple of weeks before his passing. We shared many memories of those happy times that I will cherish. He was optimistic about his situation. My sincere condolences to his brother Bill and family. He will be missed. - Posted by: Andy Cheslock (Friend) on: Oct 10, 2025
