With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our Matriarch Joan Laurie Impey on September 26, 2025 at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB.
Mom was born on May 15, 1933 in Winnipeg at the old Grace Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Laura O’Kapiece. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 69 years James, son Mitch (Alyson), daughter Susan (Doug Kreutzer), grandchildren, Jillian (Paul), Joel (Bradie), Taylor (Lindy), Erika and great-grandchild Heidi.
Joan loved to travel, read and spend time with her family. She is forever thankful to her trusted spouse Jim for his unwavering care. Joan and Jim were a constant support to each other, finishing each others’ sentences and sharing evening hugs. We will all miss her.
Thanks to the Paramedics, ER staff and Palliative Care Team at Bethesda Hospital. Special thank you to all the staff at The Cottages North for their care of Joan over the past three years.
Celebration of Life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on October 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Monsignor Comeault presiding.
