With heavy hearts, the Duke family announces the peaceful passing of Eleanor Duke on October 15, 2025, while with family members at St. Boniface Hospital.
Eleanor was born February 17, 1935, in Winnipeg to Michael and Rose Werbicki, and she married Stanley Duke on June 5, 1954. Together they devoted their love to raising three children and taking them on travel adventures.
Eleanor was grateful to have stayed in her home for all but the last four days of her life, and she was proud to have served as matriarch of the Werbicki and Halas families. She will be remembered for her loving heart and her kindness to family and friends, and her legacy will live on in everyone who knew her.
Eleanor was predeceased by husband, Stanley Duke, and brother Bernie Werbicki. She is survived by sister Janet Krysko, eldest son Darren Duke, daughter Deb Raven and son-in-law Clyde Raven, and son Kevin Duke and daughter-in-law Carolyn Duke. Eleanor also adored her grandchildren Brittany Flores, Nicole Fortier, Blake Fortier, and Kennedi Duke, as well as great-grandchildren Lola and Bazzie Pizarro-Fortier.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 23, 2025, at Green Acres Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m.
