Gerald (Gerry) Joseph Purdy passed away peacefully at the age of 96 years on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. He is deeply mourned by his wife Adeline Joyce Purdy.
Gerry was born in Winnipeg on January 29, 1929, and he lived his entire life in Winnipeg and in Sandy Hook. He was employed for many years at Applied Hydraulics. He and Joyce resided at Cornerstone for 10 years and recently moved to River Ridge. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Rossmere Golf and Country Club and on his retirement, he spent many hours on the Sandy Hook Golf Course with his long-time friend Wally Hunchak. He continued playing golf well into his 80’s. He and Joyce vacationed in Arizona and British Columbia

We spent many wonderful hours with Gerry and Joyce. I probably played 100 or more games of golf with Gerry and loved every one of them. Our trips into Scottsdale to snoop around the Golf Shops, Home Depot and the PGA store were always fun. Rest in Peace my friend.
