Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We were neighbours of Sophie's for many years and more importantly friends. Whether it was at the dog park or walking her pups down the street, Sophie met many people and their pets and seemed to know the names of all of them. On many Friday evenings, neighbours with their dogs would gather at Sophie's garage. She was so happy to look out and see so many pups and people visiting. We spent many teatimes over the years admiring her beautiful garden and chatting about local and world current events. There were always so many funny stories about some of the shenanigans her pups got into like digging up carrots or picking cucumbers for a snack. They were always forgiven. All of her rescue dogs were so lucky to have had such a loving home but Sophie always said she was the lucky one. She was a true dog whisperer and I learnt a lot from her over the years. Sophie was a very kind and generous person who touched the hearts of many. It was always very important to Sophie to donate to many animal charities to give other recue pups a second chance at life. Sophie you were so special and are missed and but will not be forgotten. ❤️ - Posted by: Jen and Kelly Kjartanson (neighbours and friends) on: Nov 06, 2025

  • I flew with Sophie in the sixties as a TCA stewardess and in the seventies as an Air Canada flight attendant. She was a dedication airline employee and I worked with her many times. Sophie was an animal lover and very fond of her dogs. ‘Vic haha - Posted by: Leona Shewchuk (Co worker at TCA and Air Canada) on: Nov 01, 2025

  • I remember Sophie fondly from her days as a Flight Attendant with Air Canada & her dog walking in Assiniboine Park. She was the most kind & generous person & she donated monetarily to many animal charities. A truly good person! - Posted by: Karen Skinner (Friend) on: Nov 01, 2025
