My deepest sympathy to Allan, Pam, Jennifer and their families. Mavis was a remarkable woman full of energy, kindness and a joy for life. She came out on a bitterly cold January day to sing a hymn at my mother’s small graveside service because she knew how much that meant to me. A kindness I’ll never forget. When the credit union moved to a two story building Mavis very seldom took the stairs. She preferred the empty elevator as the acoustics were good for a quick tap dance on her way up or down. Never missed a chance to add a bit of joy into a day. I’ll always keep your memories close. Joan - Posted by: Joan (Tennese) Halbert (Friend) on: Feb 01, 2026

Mavis and I worked together starting at Hy-Line in the 80s and through Vantis and Assiniboine Credit Unions. We went on Hydro paydays to satellite stations to cash cheques before ATMs arrived. She was at every function with her camera ready (no cell phone cameras then). Our non official Hy-Line photographer. She was notorious for flying into work approximately at nine. One morning she was late as her plant had fallen on its nose and she had to save it. I love you Mavis and will miss you chatty emails to catch me up on your family’s achievements. Always so proud of your girls and grandchildren. My heartfelt condolences to all. Joan - Posted by: Joan (Tennese) Halbert (Friend and coworker) on: Jan 31, 2026
