Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTELLA (STEPHANIA) ANTONY
It is with great sadness, the family of Stella Antony announce her peaceful passing on April 10, 2025 at St Boniface Hospital.
Stella was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Tatianna; her husband of 59 years, Mike (2015); and her eldest son Paul.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by, daughters, Pauline Swain (James), Barbara Tetoff (Ronald), and son Timothy Antony (Elizabeth); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother Joe Lutz (Ann); as well as many family members, friends, and neighbors.
As a young girl she had immigrated to Canada from eastern Poland with her family, and settled in Nipawin, Saskatchewan until her mid teenage years. After the untimely passing of her mother, she made her way to Winnipeg, her father and younger brother soon to follow, where she then met her life long partner and future husband Mike. They were married and blessed with four children, and resided in Winnipeg the remainder of their days.
Stella held a variety of jobs during her early years of marriage. As her children grew, she was able to take the time to garner an exciting and rewarding final chapter of her working career, and became an operating room technician and anesthesiologist assistant at the St. Boniface Hospital. She retired in 1997, fulfilled, proud and looking forward to some well-deserved rest.
With Stella and Mike both retired, they began to enjoy more of the easy life. For many years they had a trailer site at the Oasis Campground. They enjoyed taking their grandchildren for swimming, kite flying and marshmallows by the fire. They enjoyed going for coffee, playing cards and occasionally dancing.
As per Stella's request, a private family service was held in the summer of 2025.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and hospice staff at St Boniface Hospital for their care and comfort in her final days.
Thank you, Jessica Sookermany, at Korban Funeral Chapel for your assistance, guidance, and compassion.
A special thank you to Father Evan Maximuik for your prayers, services and kindest words during our most difficult days.
