CHRISTOPHER WILLIAM BUTCHART
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chris Butchart on April 11, 2026 at the age of 52. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife Alison and son Tristan at his bedside.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Alison; his son Tristan; his labradoodle Charlie; and his unborn twin baby sons, Gabriel and Reagan.
Chris was born July 29, 1973 in Winnipeg. Chris was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in July 2023.
Chris was also survived by his parents, Renee and Bill; his sister Keri (Stuart); father-in-law John (Edel); brother-in-law Gary (Claire); and his nieces and nephew. Chris was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Anne.
Chris always had a passion for the lake and water skiing. He loved to fish, play golf and quad with Tristan. As a family, Chris, Alison and Tristan enjoyed playing tennis together. Chris also loved to snowmobile and cook.
Chris loved spending time with Alison and Tristan at their cabin on Lee River, Lac du Bonnet.
Alison and Tristan would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the palliative care team who took great care of Chris at home.
Cremation has taken place and a small family service will be held at a later date.
