BRUCE CARLSON

February 7, 1960 - March 31, 2026

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Bruce Lorne Carlson, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Rhonda Zelisko; parents, Ed and Lorraine Carlson; and brother Larry Carlson.

During his youth Bruce moved around a lot based on his father’s career, but most notably reminisced about his time in Marathon, Ontario. As an adult he lived in Pine Falls where he was first married (Janelle) and had two children; there he worked as a janitor at the local school and later as a long-haul truck driver. In the late 2000s Bruce moved to Lac du Bonnet where he met his wife (Rhonda) and became a stepfather to her two sons. It was there he found his calling as a health-care aide and worked in Beausejour, Pinawa, Pine Falls, and Lac du Bonnet until he retired in 2025.

Bruce had a love for fishing, camping, cooking, and gardening; he was known for his hot sauces and plants that he would readily share with loved ones. Most of all, Bruce loved connecting with people and it showed in his career and home; he cherished his friendships and family and would do anything for those around him. He will be remembered for his hugs, smile, jokes, and his gentle, giant presence. He loved lighthouses and lived as his tattoo read, "Be the light."

Bruce is survived by his children, Graeme and Kiana; stepchildren, Jordan and Jeremey; siblings, Dwaine (Bernadette) and Gail (Leon); his nephew, various nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Information will follow about a Celebration of Life that will likely take place in June. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home.
