It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Aunt. Verna was preceded in her passing by her parents, Rose and Joseph, her beloved husband, Roy, her loving sister, Beverley, and brothers Charles and James. She is survived by her nephew, Ryan, niece, Larissa (Trevor), great niece and nephew, Hannah and Sean, and her lifelong friend since grade school, Judy.
Verna shared a devoted marriage of 35 years with Roy, a partnership built on love, laughter and shared adventures. They enjoyed attending car shows and taking peaceful drives to Winnipeg Beach and Gimli – places that held special meaning for her.
A devoted dog lover, Verna shared her life with a beloved line of Golden Retrievers – Boomer, Whisper, Baxter, Bumper, Beamer and Bouncer – each one a cherished member of her family.
Through her crochet work, she made countless beautiful afghans. Those lucky enough to receive one of her handmade pieces carry forward a lasting reminder of her kindness.
She was a kind-hearted, strong-willed and very loving person. Our Aunty Verna will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life will take place this summer in Winnipeg Beach.

It is with sadness I read today of the passing of Verna. I met Verna in the 70`s while working for the federal government. Verna was a very kind lady. She so loved her pets. She loved Ryan, Larissa, Trevor and family. She was proud of all her family. Verna was so grateful for her neighbours often telling me she had the best. She was an avid gardener creating beautiful spaces. Searle`s nursery has lost a faithful customer often being one of the first in line for their sales. Verna was also known to shop many garage sales seeking out a good bargain. Verna had many sorrows in her life with the losses of family and dear friends. She always bounced back putting one foot in front of the other. Sending my condolences to her family and friends in your loss. - Posted by: Lynne Cooper (friend) on: Apr 25, 2026
