Donna Jo Anne (Perry) Dalke went to be with her creator on April 28, 2026, at Donwood Manor at the age of 83. Ironically, she passed away on the same unit where she worked as a nurse and cared for patients for over 20 years.
Donna was born on February 5, 1943, in Ninette, Manitoba. Daughter of her late parents William Arthur Perry and Helena Perry (Nichol) of Killarney Manitoba.
She is also predeceased by her husband Gustav, brother Allan, sisters-in-law Hilda Perry and Karen Perry, brother-in-law Bill Funk, nephews Ken Funk and Mark Perry and niece Diane Perry. She is survived by two brothers Ron and George Perry (Donna) of BC, two sisters Mary Funk of Calgary and Marlene Dauphinais (Don) of Treherne Manitoba.
Donna married Gustav Dalke on April 10, 1965. She was the mother of three children Darryl Dalke, Carla Franklin (Fraser), and Myron Dalke (Kimberly). Donna was also the proud grandmother to her four grandchildren Michael and Mathew Franklin, Edwin and Maxwell Dalke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends that will miss her.
Donna graduated from Red River College as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She gave up her license when she had children, and after her husband became ill, she went back to take a refresher. That is how she supported her family. Resilient, hardworking, determined and loving are all words I would use to describe our mother.
When she retired, she finally had the time to take up some hobbies; golfing, bowling, line dancing, to name a few. She had an infectious smile that was loved by anyone that met her.
We would like to thank all the staff at Donwood who cared for mom with such kindness and professionalism. You all truly set the bar where health care should be. THANK YOU
A Funeral Service will be held on, Tuesday May 5, 2026, at the Wheatland Funeral Chapel in Killarney, Manitoba at 11:30 a.m. A livestream link will be made available prior to the start of the service on Donna’s obituary page at www.wheatlandfs.com.
