ROSS COLLINS Peacefully, with courage and dignity, Harvey Ross Collins, aged 75 years, passed away at the Emerson Hospital on Friday, October 1, 1999. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years Mabel (Keen) three children, Faye and husband John Homer of Vancouver and their children, Laura and Ian, Douglas of Killarney, Bruce of Ridgeville; and one sister Eileen and husband John Chubaty and their family of Ridgeville. He was predeceased by his parents Martha and Charlie Collins. Ross loved farming, beginning with mixed farming, and later concentrating on grain farming. His many interests included hockey, baseball, spending time at the New Horizon Club, and making his rounds around town. He was also active in his community and church. Ross had a unique gift of making people feel welcome, and had friends of all ages. He was simply a genuine people person. His wisdom, courage, and support of others, and his sense of humour will always be remembered and greatly missed. As a family we are thankful that God granted us time with Ross (Dad), and that he is now safe with Jesus. You will always be in our hearts and lives till we meet again. If so desired, donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Parish Hall Fund. Funeral services will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church at Fredensthal on Wednesday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. Following the interment in the Fredensthal Cemetery, lunch will be served at the Ridgeville Community Hall.
