THELMA COLLINS (nee RUSSELL) On January 17, 2001, in her 86th year, after a brief illness, in Victoria, B.C. Predeceased by her first husband Walter Duncan in 1950 and her second husband William Harcourt (Harry) Collins in 1989. Also predeceased by her brother Deane Russell. Survived by sisters, Mrs. J.G. (Grace) Bascom of Chatham, Ont., and Mrs. L.M. (Ruth) Nichols of Unionville, Ont.; brother-in-law Lawrence Nichols and her nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg in 1914; she was educated at the University of Manitoba. Thelma had a career with the Government of Manitoba and following a move to Montreal in 1941, with the Aluminum Company of Canada. She moved to Moncton, N.B., in 1962 with her husband Harry Collins. They also maintained a home in St. Martins, N.B., on the Bay of Fundy. After retirement they lived several years in St. Catherines, Ont., Port Credit and Mississauga. Thelma moved to Victoria, B.C., after Harrys death in 1989. She made and kept friendships in all the places she lived. Interment of ashes and a family memorial service will take place in Mississauga at a later date. Thelma will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
