ROBERT GEORGE MEYER 1921 - 2002 Bob Meyer, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Bethania P.C. Home early Saturday morning. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife of 57 years, Eleanor; his beloved daughters and son, Audrey (Bob) Stein, Linda Marcelet, and Donald (Lorene) as well as six grandchildren and sister-in-law Kay Epler; sisters, Marie, Eleanor, Freda and brother Charlie (Jean) and many nieces, nephews, and friends in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Mesa, AZ. Bob served in the RCAF during the war. He then returned to Winnipeg and continued his career with the Federal Government (DOT), spending 35 years there. In his early married life he spent many happy summers at the family cabin at Grand Beach, as well as many family camping trips around Canada and the U.S. Bob and Eleanor had five world trips together and after retiring in 1978, they spent over 18 happy years in Mesa, AZ. The United Church was important to Bob and he spent many years in service to both Robertson Memorial and Gordon King Memorial Churches. He enjoyed his youth groups and Pioneer Boys Club. The family enjoyed many church activities together. Mom and Dad had a long happy retirement together until failing health prevented more travel. We wish to thank all who helped in Dads care recently. Maria from home care and her girls, VON, Dr. D. Johnson, nurses at Concordia, especially Jo during his recent stays there, and lastly, the caring staff at Bethania for their love and support to Bob and family, Helen, Louise, Cynthia, Hertha and Heather and all who we never got to meet. Special thanks to Pastor G. Friesen for his support to the family when we needed him most and for helping Bob on his final journey to a better place, free from pain. Cremation has taken place, with a memorial service to be held on Tuesday, March 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. Rev. Paul Campbell officiating.
