Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) MURPHY June 22, 1961 - September 6, 2002 It is with great sorrow but with many fabulous memories that our family announces the death of Bill Murphy. Billy will be loved and cherished forever by his parents (who were his best friends), Gordon and Gloria; his best buddies, Henry Mark and Barry Gembey; his brother Mickey (Judy) his sisters, Pat Kapilik (Doug), Debbi Murphy-MacDonald (Larry), Pamela Murphy (Barry) and his nephews and nieces, Rhonda, Lorinda, Richelle, Colin, David, Renata, Ryan, and Brennen; great-nephew Andrew; aunts, uncles and cousins; along with countless friends and associates. Bill is renowned for his love, concern, generosity and outstanding loyalty to his family and friends. He was always phoning or dropping in on family and friends just to see if they were following the advice that he had given them on the previous visit. He would engage in genuine conversation with anyone from age nine months to 99 years, and made them feel important and appreciated. He lived his life with zest and enthusiasm. Whether it was regular trips to Vegas with his mom and dad, or following his nephews and nieces hockey or soccer careers, nothing was done halfheartedly. When you needed Bill he was there! Bill had one speed: "fast forward". He was the life of every party! Bill was raised in E.K. and Elmwood. He was kept busy playing hockey, and on his dads farm on weekends, as well as with the familys lighting business. He travelled the world as an electrician with the "Royal Winnipeg Ballet", and "The Great Circus of China." He worked many years with "Local 63 I. A. T. S. E. Theatrical Union", this year marking his "20" years of service. In recent years he was House Electrician at The Pantages Playhouse, and General Manager for Stage - Lite Manitoba. He will always be remembered as someone who worked hard, played hard, and loved with all his HEART! He is greatly missed already. Funeral service Thursday, September 12 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, Munroe and Brazier, viewing at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba Inc., 4-1000 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0N3. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
