Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALERIE ANNE COLLINS August 14, 1950 - June 26, 2003 Accidentally, June 26, 2003 on Highway 307, Valerie Anne Collins, aged 53, passed away. Born and raised in North Winnipeg, her first employment was at the age of 15, after school at Tasty Sunflower Seeds. Employment varied through the years, The Eatons Co., Manitoba Liquor Commission and then in 1997 found an occupation that truly served her demeanour. She became a home support worker with the Manitoba Government. A position of attending to seniors needs. Dedicated, efficient and caring, her niche, in the working world was embedded. Summer leisure time was spent in the Whiteshell, 33 years of driving out for weekends and vacations is something lake people do, pack and unpack and never complain. Her sons friends were always welcome, seven people and three dogs sharing a 400 sq.ft. cabin, made each stay a memorable one. Her Uncle Martins farm, five miles south of St. Malo was a focal point for the Kiyan family here, among cousins, uncles and brothers. Memories of hunting trips, fishing and general good times were had by all. Christmas was special, tackled with ease - food for six to 20, no problem, all were welcome. Her grandson Kaiden at 20 months and a just born granddaughter, baby Tiana Rose, were the most precious gifts ever bestowed upon her. The time spent with Kaiden, the Saturday night "Sleepovers", the playful hours at Kildonan Park, home or even at Salisbury House, were all special to her. Her memory forever cherished by her husband Jim; son Kyle, his wife Dorota, children, Kaiden and Tiana; her mother Annie Kutroski; brothers, Sidney (Rose), Jerry (Shirley) sister Pat; nephew Wesley (Carrie). Predeceased by her father John and sister Sharon. In complying with Valeries wishes, a private family service will take place. Flowers are gratefully declined.
