Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE TABACHEK (nee SAYAK) On October 24, 2005, at the Riverview Health Centre, Anne Tabachek passed away from cancer at 88 years of age. She will be sadly missed by her son Edward and daughter-in-law Jo-Anne; two sisters, Stella Cook of Gimli, MB, and Mae Grabosky of Lakewood, CA; one brother Jack of Portage la Prairie, MB; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1972; sisters, Helen Riske, Tina Paynter, Kate Prokopchuk; and brothers, John, Mike, Stanley, Bill and Slawko. Anne was born near Fraserwood, MB, on May 7, 1917, the eldest of 12 children. She moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Joseph Tabachek in 1943 and had one son Edward. Anne worked in the garment industry, first in factories during the war, then side-by-side with Joe when they operated a custom leather jacket business. Later, Anne worked as a cook at the St. Boniface Hospital for 28 years, retiring in 1987. Anne was a very independent woman who enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and socializing at the Main Street Senior's Centre and at Sts. Peter and Paul Manor where she lived for the past 10 years. The family extends special thanks to all the staff of Riverview Health Centre on 3-East for their compassionate and loving care of Anne during the past few months. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Private family interment will precede the service. Flowers are gratefully declined but we know Anne would be honoured to have donations made in her memory to the Main Street Senior's Centre, 817 Main St., Winnipeg, MB R2W 5V2, where she spent many happy hours. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
