BERT SWISKOSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bert, who left this world peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bert leaves his loving companion of twelve years, Eleanor Winthrop, his brother Steve of The Pas, his beloved daughters Darlene Swiskoski of Whitehorse, Yukon and Hazel (Ron Overland) also of Whitehorse. Bert was born in Polonia, Manitoba on June 12, 1924. He is predeceased by his parents Katie and George Swiskoski, step-mother Petrunia, first wife Elizabeth (Elsie), second wife Florence (nee Nagorski) as well as brothers Albert and Benny. Bert enjoyed farming until his retirement and his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, dancing, playing cards and socializing with numerous friends and family over the years. Bert will be sadly missed by all of his immediate family including many nieces and nephews, the Winthrop family and many dear friends. Funeral Service was held at the Kelwood Community Centre on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was held at the Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa on Monday, November 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Kathy Platt officiating. The families wish to extend their deepest gratitude to the medical and palliative care team of Neepawa Memorial Hospital for their care and support to Bert and the family during his illness.
