AUDREY MARY TAYLOR (nee ANDREWS) (NANNY) With many of her family at her side, Mom passed peacefully at the Grace Hospital on January 29, 2006 at the age of 95. She leaves us to join her husband Cecil, her daughter Celia Craig, son-in-law David Rivers, six brothers and one sister. Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Mildred Robertson (Bob) of Fresno, CA, Shirley Rivers and Ruby Smith (Marshall) of Winnipeg; son Brian (Hazel) of Toronto; son-in-law Bob Craig of Calgary; and her sister Yvonne Friesen of Chilliwak. Nanny will also be sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Born November 15, 1910 in St. Andrews, MB, Nanny's Taylor and Andrews families were descendants of the Selkirk settlers. She lived her entire life in or around Winnipeg, being a resident of West Kildonan for over 60 years. For the last five years her home was in the Kiwanis Courts on Ness Avenue where she made many friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Courts for their care of Nanny while she lived there and to the 5th floor staff at the Grace Hospital for their compassionate care and comfort during her final days. Service will be held at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. in Winnipeg at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 2. Family and friends are invited to stay for a lunch following the service. A private family interment will take place after the lunch. Floral tributes are gratefully declined. Instead, the family wishes that remembrances be made to the Community of Life Church, 154 Pentland Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2G 1S8, the Manitoba chapter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Although we did not get to see Nanny as often as we would like, the distance always melted away when we heard her lovely voice on the phone. We will miss Nanny very much. She will be in our hearts and warmly remembered always. May we all have her sweetness if we are blessed with her longevity.
