ALICE JANE TAYLER Peacefully, on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Red River Place in Selkirk, MB, Alice Jane Tayler, aged 93 years, of Selkirk, formerly of Winnipeg Beach and Winnipeg. Alice or Jen as she was known to many of her old friends and family, was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Herb, in March, 1995. Alice was born in Southwestern Manitoba, and spent her childhood years in Foxwarren, MB. Alice worked at Postal Station L and post offices at Karrs and Donald Drugs in Winnipeg for over 20 years. She married Herb in 1937 and with the exception of one year in Dryden, ON, they spent all of their working lives in Winnipeg, retiring to Winnipeg Beach in 1972. Her declining health necessitated a move to Red River Place in late 2000. Alice leaves to mourn her older sister Elizabeth of New Westminster, BC; daughters, Beverly and Diane (Richard) and son David (Reta). Also left to mourn are her devoted granddaughter Janet and six other grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A brief Service of Remembrance will be held at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, MB on Monday, February 27 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and she will be interred beside Herb at the Cemetery at the Little White Chapel (Mustardseed) in Ponemah, MB at a service later this Spring. Flowers are gratefully declined.
