Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH ( JOE ) SWEREDA November 12, 1941 (Olha, MB) - May 28, 2006 It is with love and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandfather, Joe on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 64 years. Remaining to forever cherish Joe's memory are his wife Stella of 37 years of marriage; daughters, Cecilia (Jayson), Cynthia (Pierre) and Shelley; four grandchildren, Cailee, Brennan, Joran and Ella; one sister Anne; and brothers, Harry (Frances), Mike (Joyce), Walter (Naddia) and Stanley, Melvin (Anne); sister-in-law Rouga; brother-in-law Bill Fuhr and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Jessie Swereda; brothers, Peter and Matt; and by his sister Marion. Dad will always be remembered by his family, relatives and friends for his fiddle music and his caring and compassionate nature. Prayers will be sung on Tuesday evening, May 30 at 7:00 p.m., in St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St. Divine Liturgy will be Celebrated on Wednesday morning, May 31 at 10:00 a.m., also in the Church with Rev. Fr. Ernie Hafichuk, officiating. Pallbearers will be Messrs., Gordon Kushner, Delmar Borody, Mark Swereda, Dale Swereda, Peter Twerdun and Earl Swayzie. The Cross Bearer will be Richard Twerdun. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on GH6 at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care. In addition, we would like to thank the doctors and staff at CancerCare Manitoba. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Basil's Parish Choir Fund.
