JOAN KITTSON (KITTY) TALBOT Joan Kittson Kitty Talbot, 58, of Minnedosa, MB, Canada died on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 in an automobile accident near Brandon, MB. She was born in Boston MA, the daughter of Frederic and Joan Talbot. She was raised in Weston, MA and graduated from Concord Academy in Concord, MA and Colby Junior College (now Colby-Sawyer) in New London NH. After college, she worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines in Boston and New York, then lived for several years in Denver, CO before settling in Minnedosa in the late 1970s. She immediately fell in love with this small historic farming and vacation community and the feeling was returned by the town. Over the years, Kitty operated the Valley Motor Lodge in Minnedosa, the Mt. Agassiz Ski Area in McCreary, MB, and was a volunteer for many community organizations including the annual Heritage Days Festival in Minnedosa. At the age of 50, she went back to school and received her nursing degree and in recent years had worked at both the Minnedosa Hospital and the Minnedosa Personal Care Home. She loved people and had a diverse group of loyal friends that included Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, farmers/ranchers, doctors/nurses, the senior citizens that she cared for as well as her beloved horse, Scooter. A memorial service in Kitty's memory held at the Minnedosa Community Center on Monday, September 4 was attended by over 500 friends and family and was followed by a burial service at the Minnedosa Cemetery. She leaves her companion of 25 years, Mark Leguee; her mother Joan Talbot of Scarborough, ME; her brother Bradford Talbot, his wife Mary and daughter Betts of Denver, CO; and her brother Peter Talbot, his wife Lorraine and sons, Ben and Andrew of Scarborough, ME.
