PAUL JOHN SWYSTUN Paul John Swystun was born on February 4, 1917and grew up one of 12 children on the family farm near Hafford, Saskatchewan. He married Olga Worobec and the couple had four children, Patricia, Harvey, Carole and Maureen. Paul was an avid member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Josaphat Council 4138 and became an honorable member with lifelong standing. In 1984 his first wife passed and in 1986 he married a childhood neighbour, Olga Wolanyk. When Olga moved into a nursing home in Winnipeg, Paul moved to Calgary to be close to his family. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Bethany Harvest Hills Care Centre in Calgary. Paul is survived by his wife Olga Swystun and lovingly remembered by his children, Patricia Pruden, Harvey Swystun, Carole Kowal and Maureen Marshall (Dave), and his grandchildren, Jana Pruden (Evan McIntyre) and Colina and Matts Marshall. He is also survived by four sisters, Rose, Jean, Emma and Olga. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 17 at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 18 also at the Church with Fr. Mark Gnutel officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
