Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD (LEO) TIBELIUS Peacefully, on January 12, 2007, Leo passed away at the Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home at the age of 98 years. Leo is survived by his wife Herta; and sons, Karl (Christine), Klaus and Wally (Verna); and daughter Hilda (Bob); and several grand-children, great-grandchildren as well as family in Germany. Leo was born in the Caucasus region in Russia and immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his family. He was employed for many years as a gardener at Kildonan Park and continued to garden as a hobby after he retired. Leo's family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Bethania for the excellent care and kindness they extended to him during his declining years. At Bethania, Leo enjoyed interacting with the staff and appreciated the German church services and the beautiful gardens. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 16, 12:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Viewing will take place one half hour before the service. A reception will follow the service in the Church hall. Leo will be laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and if friends so desire, donations in Leo's memory may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 370 McKenzie St., Winnipeg, MB R2W 5B2.
