LINDA SWIRSKY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Swirsky on Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Selkirk General Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunty and friend to all and we will miss her dearly, as will her faithful Terrier, Stanley . Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ron of 36 years; daughter Erin Jane; sister Meryl (Jim Thomas); brothers-in-law, Ed (Betty) and Len (Gerri); sister-in-law Bonnie (Dave McPherson) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Scotty and Jean Lithgow, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Marion and her brother-in-law Bob. Linda was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and immigrated to Canada when she was six years old. Linda's father was in the R.C.A.F. and her family was stationed at several air bases in Eastern Canada before being transferred to Linda's special place, Gimli. It was in Gimli that she met Ron, her partner, her life companion, her love, her happiness. And it was also in Gimli that she met many life-long friends that still get together in Gimli each year. Linda was a school bus driver for the L.S.S.D. and over the years she enjoyed the many friendships she made with the other drivers. Linda's new found love of the last four years was golf and she would go as often as she could until her illness took over. We would like to express our thanks to all of the staff at Selkirk General Hospital for all their care and kindness, and to all our family and friends who would spend time with her. Special thanks to Kim Shewchuk and Linden Albertson who spent endless time with Linda. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
