Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE FRANCIS McTAGGART April 3, 1935 - February 20, 2007 With a broken heart, I am so very sad to share with you that my wonderful husband George left us on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. Following heart surgery on November 14th, 2006, many complications hampered his recovery and he fought so hard to overcome each and every one of them without complaint. His goal was to be well enough to return to his trailer at Winnipeg Beach to spend the summer with his cherished Wildwood Park friends. George will be forever missed by his wife Pat, his dog Daisy, daughters, Debbie Johnson and husband Dave, Donna Carlson and husband Eric, grandchildren, Evan and Tara Hiebert, step-children Paul Phillips and wife Lisa and their children Austin and Zoey, Lisa Deneka and husband Rob and their children Alex and Connor, brother Dave, sister Margaret Chalmers and husband John as well as relatives in Scotland and England. Also remembering him, sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce McTaggart, Susan and Gerry Rogers, Bill and Barb Ryzowski and Bernice Ryzowski. George leaves special memories with his numerous nieces and nephews. Welcoming George with open arms are his parents, Janet and John, infant son Brian, brothers, John, Hugh and Ed, mother and father-in-law Pat and Paul Ryzowski, brother-in-law Dick Ryzowski, and sister-in-law Gloria Lethbridge. His special dogs Butch, Sandi and Buddy are waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge. George began his work life with Winnipeg Hydro and retired after a fulfilling career with the Canadian Union of Public Employees. George was proud to be a voice for the working man . George enjoyed a long and happy retirement spending several winters in Texas, summers at Birds Hill Park and Winnipeg Beach. Time spent socializing with groups of friends at the Union Centre, Carlos Murphy's, the Rockwood Legion and the Roadhouse were special to him. I am especially grateful to Bud Laliberte for being there for George and me from the day of surgery right though to the very end. You have no idea how much that meant to us. Thank you to Dr. Rabb and his team, all the excellent staff of ICU and IICU at HSC. At George's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of George's life will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007, 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Donations to George's favourite charity, The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3, will be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME And Reception Centre 885-9715

Dear Dad, Today in particular I am thinking about you. Near or far you have always been close to my heart. Through thick and thin I have always known that from the bottom of my heart I love you and know you love me too. Life is not the same without you around. Like when we are having a heck of a snow storm and I want to call and tell you about it. But then I realize, you already know. There is a lunar eclipse tonight. I think you are winking down at me, cause everything's alright. Love, Deb xxxooo - Posted by: Debbie Johnson (Family) on: Feb 20, 2008
