MICHAEL (STASZEK) SZCZEPANSKI October 10, 1916 - May 19, 2007 On May 19, 2007 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Michael Szczepanski passed away peacefully at age 90. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Weronica, his brother Mitch, and sister Jeanette. Michael is survived by his sons, Richard (Susan), Joseph (Cathy); daughter Angela Chubala, and grandchildren, Kyle and Chrissy. He also leaves to mourn his brother Edward (Marianne) and sister Susan, as well as may nieces and nephews. Michael was born and grew up in Poland. He was a Second World War veteran serving with the Polish forces in North Africa, the Middle East and Italy. In 1950 he immigrated with Weronica to Winnipeg, where they worked hard to make a life for themselves, and their three children. Michael worked for many years in the sheet metal food equipment industry where he was known for his skill in that trade. Throughout his life, he loved the outdoors and spent much of his leisure time fishing and mushroom picking. He loved to watch things grow and took pride in his garden. The family would like to thank Dr, Patel and the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, third floor, Units 5, 7, and 9 for the care and compassion that our father received. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Parish, located at 341 Selkirk Avenue, on Friday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
