BRIAN ALLAN THORDARSON January, 8 1951 September, 13 2007 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Brian Allan Thordarson of Riverton, Manitoba on Thursday September 13 at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 56. Brian will forever be loved and missed by his wife Dorothy and daughter Lindsay; sister Linda (Rob); niece Amber; in-laws Cecile (Clyde), Hugh (Lorraine), Margery (Grant), David, Kris (Janine), Jean (Dave) and Herb Briem, many nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Bjorgvin and Irene; in-laws Hugh and Kristin Collins. Brian was born in Selkirk and raised in Gimli, MB. In his youth he was an avid hockey player and a motorcycle enthusiast. After graduating from high school he had various jobs and traveled through Europe. He then pursued his B.A., B.Ed at the University of Manitoba. Brian's career in the Evergreen School Division began in Gimli, and continued in Riverton where he met his wife Dorothy. They settled in Finns, MB and were blessed with the birth of their daughter, his Bud , Lindsay; his pride and joy. Brian served on numerous Evergreen School Division committees and was most recently Principal at the Riverton Early Middle Years School. He was a caring and dedicated educator who was affectionately known to all of his students as Mr. T. Brian had a true love of music, sports and the outdoors. His passion was hunting and fishing with the boys. A celebration of Brian's life will be held at the Riverton Recreation Centre on September 18, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. The family thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff in CICU and MICU at St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to the Cardiac Science Program at St. Boniface Hospital or a charity of one's choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
