Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBETTY THORSTEINSON May 13, 1947 - October 13, 2007 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Betty Thorsteinson on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the age of 59 years. Betty is survived by her husband of 39 years; Clifford Thorsteinson of Westbourne, MB, their daughter Ronna (Craig) Hilsendager; grandchildren Dane and Kyra of Saskatoon, SK, son Chris (Sonya) Thorsteinson; grandchild Ryder also of Westbourne, MB, one sister Pat (Dave) Asmundson and one brother Jerry (Sharon) Hillman of Gladstone and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Sylvia Hillman of Gladstone, MB. Over the past 25 years, until her passing, Betty was the Postmaster for the community of Westbourne. She worked hard and was proud to keep the doors open to one of the few remaining rural retail postal outlets. Betty had an exceptional talent of entrepreneurial skills and a drive to make change. These skills were evident with her successful retail business she owned and operated for twenty years as well as her vision for her community, serving on various committees over the years. Those who knew Betty, knew of her love for music and the encouragement she always gave to young musicians. For this reason, if friends so desire, Memorial Donations may be made to the national music charity of Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Science. The website address is www.musican.ca.
