DAVID WILLIAM SWINN It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David William Swinn, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather on Friday, January 4, 2008. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Barbara; children, Tyler, Alison (Dave), and Graham; grandchildren, Madison and Emma; sister Judy (Kevin); brothers, Terry (Lynn), Phil (Sue), Kenny (Linda) and Ed; and sister-in-law Judy. David was predeceased by his parents, Isobel and Edmund Swinn. David was known for his love for life, it was extremely rare to see him without his big welcoming smile and wishing you a happy Monday or whatever the day may be. He had a gift for making people feel special. He was dedicated to his wife and children, and loved spending his Sundays with family around the BBQ. David was a member of the Winnipeg Squash Club, and an avid sports fan, specifically the Boston Red Sox. He loved to watch and play baseball, having played slo-pitch for many years. He took great pride in his work, building strong relationships in the insurance business for over 35 years. Just as in his everyday life, he was respected and well loved among his peers. A celebration of David's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave, on Wednesday, January 9 at 12:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K4.
