Memories of her will be cherished by her loving husband Ed Tinkler and her children, Cameron (Lisa) Shearer, Nashville, TN, Craig (Cheryl) Shearer, Port Moody, BC, Cindy (Dean) Neubauer and Caron (Dave) Turk, her step-children, Diane (Ross) McKenzie, Port Coquitlam, BC, Brett (Josie) Tinkler, Drumheller, AB, and Scott Tinkler (Lise Fiola-Tinkler) She will be missed by her brothers, Walter (Josie) Kensick, Regina, SK, Stan (Thelma) Kensick, Laurence (Maureen) Kensick, Crystal Lake, IL and Jerry Kensick, as well as her sister Evelyn Woods- Maple Ridge, BC. Millie is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Kathleen Kensick, her sisters Eileen Kensick and Margaret Brown, Calgary, AB, and brother-in-laws, Jack Brown and Maurie Woods. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, Alex, Kristin and Daniel, Lee and Laine, Ryan and Shayne, Oliver, Luke and Chris, Colin and Stacey, Joey and Kara. Born in Winnipeg, she attended Daniel McIntyre High School, and started her working career at Great West Life. Millie quit in 1950 to raise her family, but resumed working in 1964 at the River East School Division. She was a secretary in many of the schools in that area for more than 25 years. Her passions included her family, living in Spruce Sands, wintering in Mesa, AZ and going for long walks. Millie had a love of crafting and was very artistic at it. We will miss her sense of humor and her ability to make people laugh even as her Alzheimers progressed. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Millie's extended family on the 1st floor of Concordia Place. The head nurse Karen, as well as each and every person who worked there made living with the disease so much more bearable for both Millie and all of us who loved her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society in Millie's memory.
