ANNE THORNE Anne Christine Thorne (nee Poczyniak) passed away peacefully at her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 5, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Andrew Thorne and their dogs, Fintan and Turbo; mother Elizabeth, predeceased by her father, Chester Poczyniak; her brother Alex, his wife Angela, and niece Audrey and extended family and friends. Anne was born on December 5, 1977 in Mississauga, Ontario. Anne's life included many loves, adventures and experiences which included travelling, culinary school, cooking in a tree planting camp, and scuba diving instructor. Anne's bright smile and warm personality created many friendships around the world. In 2005 she moved to Winnipeg to continue her education at the University of Manitoba. It was in Winnipeg where Andrew and Annie fell in love and were married in the summer of 2007. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Wednesday, April 9 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Manitoba, Anne Christine Thorne Memorial Bursary, 179 Extended Education Complex, Winnipeg, MB R3T 2N2.
