DONALD STEPHEN SYDORCHUK 1935 - 2008 With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our Dad on April 9, 2008 at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 73. Dad lost a short but courageous battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed by his mother Vera, his brother Ed, his four daughters, Michelle (Larry), Tracy (Stan), Kim (Kevin), and Darcy (Ken) and their mother Delores. He also leaves his 10 grandchildren, Amanda and Jason Whelihan, Carmen, Ashlei and Jesse Maciboric, Karli and Kory Saunders, Haley, Dana and Amy Hryshko, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Steve. Dad was born February 7, 1935 in Winnipeg. He attended Isaac Newton and King Edward Schools. As a youth, he enjoyed playing football and hockey. He loved golfing and was a member of the Kildonan Seniors Golf Club. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed bowling, curling, gardening and playing cribbage. His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them and their family pets. Dad held various jobs beginning with C.P.R. He then went on working as an audio-visual repairman and eventually opened up his own company, Premium AV Service. He was also a cameraman at Assiniboia Downs and then ultimately worked for the Seven Oaks School Division from which he retired in 2001. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The family would like to thank Dr. Leylek, Deb, and the staff of CancerCare and Dr. Wilson and the staff of Seven Oaks General Hospital, 3rd Floor-Unit 7 for their compassion and care.
